Balasaheb Mane, the former Member of Parliament from Ichalkaranji, founded the Bharat Education Society in Rukadi. In 1991, this institution was restructured and renamed as the Balasaheb Mane Education Trust. Over the years, the trust has expanded and now operates multiple branches.

The President Balasaheb Mane determines that good teachers are the builders of the nation. For the sake of this purpose he start Chh. Shivaji College of Education at Rukadi.

Today the Balasaheb Mane Education Turst, Rukadi is the best Reputed educational trust in Kolhapur  district under the Management Committee of President Nivedita Mane (Ex-Member of Parliament) and Secretary Dhairyashil Mane.
